A modern, touch-based user interface for controlling machine tools, such as CNC machines, was developed for a leading manufacturer of machine tools. The solution enables intuitive operation via a central interface in which several specialized apps are embedded. The implementation was carried out using Qt, resulting in a powerful and flexible software architecture.The user interface is successfully in use and makes a lasting contribution to the efficient control of modern machine tools.
